CYCLING LEGENDS DAME SARAH STOREY AND OSCAR PEREIRO REVEAL DETAILS OF MALLORCA’S PREMIUM CYCLING EVENTS; MALLORCA 312 CAMP AND THE FINALE OF THE SIX DAY SERIES

Multiple Paralympic gold medal winner Dame Sarah Storey and former Spanish road racer and 2006 Tour de France winner Óscar Pereiro today revealed details of two of Mallorca’s premiums cycling events; Mallorca 312 Camps and the highly anticipated finale of the Six Day Series taking place at the Palma Arena (Mallorca).

Speaking at the London Bike Show, the cycling duo joined representatives from Mallorca 312 Camps and the Six Day Series to discuss the two events at a presentation organised by Lotus.

Mallorca 312 Camps

Following the route of the famous ‘Mallorca 312’ race, Mallorca 312 Camps offers the unique opportunity to circumnavigate the island of Mallorca in five stages. The event will welcome small groups – of a maximum of 15 cyclists – to ride 478km with more than 8,415m of ascent, supported by a team of professional guides.

With three departure dates in October 2017, cyclists can enjoy Europe’s premium cycling destination in a friendly and non-competitive environment. Benefiting from the Mediterranean Sea breeze, guests will pass picturesque villages and climb spectacular clifftops with highlights including unprecedented ascents to Sant Salvador, Cap de Formentor and the iconic port of Sa Calobra. On the last night, riders will enjoy the well-deserved gala dinner and be welcomed into the prestigious Mallorca 312 Family.

Six Day Series

Off the back of the ‘Six Day Series’ events in London, Amsterdam, Berlin and Copenhagen, the world’s best male and female track cyclists are now preparing for the season finale which will take place at the Palma de Mallorca Velodrome at Palma Arena on 17 March 2017.

The Six Day Series, created by Madison Sports Group, has seen 29 international elite male teams and 38 elite females competing across four cities (London, Amsterdam, Berlin and Copenhagen), all with the aim of qualifying for the one night finale in Mallorca.

From the UK, the finale will welcome Rio 2016 Gold medallists Katie Archibald and Elinor Barker, plus former world track champion Andy Tennant. The world class field will also include current female world road race champion Amelie Dideriksen, six time world track champion Cameron Meyer, and reigning European Madison champions Albert Torres and Sebastian Mora Vedri.

23 times world cycling champion and Six Day London competitor, Dame Sarah Storey says, “The Six Day Series is one of the most exhilarating cycling events that I have experienced. I distinctly remember the party atmosphere of the London event and Mallorca is one of Europe’s premium cycling destinations so the Palma Arena is a natural choice for the grand finale.”

Tickets to the Six Day finale are priced from €10.00.
