Located in the Mediterranean Sea, the Balearic Islands archipelago continues to be a favourite holiday destination for British visitors. At WTM 2017, the Balearic Islands tourist board will be promoting the theme of sustainability and discussing how it is developing a sustainable and long-term tourism strategy and planned tourism initiatives.

PALMA TOURIST BOARD

Stories, angles and themes:

The buzzing Balearic Island capital Palma de Mallorca is awash with fantastic restaurants and tapas bars, beautiful boutiques, sophisticated cafes and architectural gems that are peppered across the city, from the magnificent Gothic cathedral and the 14th Century Plaza Mayor, to the Alcazar-turned-Royal Palace, La Almudaina.  During WTM 2017, Palma de Mallorca launches its new city break and gastro tourism strategy and introduces its new gastro tourism ambassadors.

Spain’s leading hotel company, Palladium Hotel Group goes from strength to strength. Following the success of the launch of Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife, Palladium Hotel Group has recently announced the development of two new properties in Mexico, as well as the launch of new brand, TRS.

At WTM 2017, Palladium Hotel Group will be introducing the travel industry to its latest hotel developments in Mexico and the Caribbean including two new luxury properties in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula (Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Resort & Spa and TRS Coral Hotel).

PHILIPPINE AIRLINES

HEATHROW EXPRESS

Providing a premium service, excellent customer service and the fastest route from central London to the UK’s hub airport, Heathrow Express has grown passenger journeys by 9% in 2017.

LA PALMA

The lesser-known Canary Island, La Palma, has a unique landscape and an abundance of nature and wildlife. It is looking to increase its profile as a destination for hiking and stargazing.

CENTRAL AMERICA TOURISM AGENCY

Stories, angles and themes:

The Central America Tourism Agency brings together the seven countries of Central America: Belize, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama and Costa Rica. CATA strives to promote multi-destination travel within the Central American region.

EFTELING

Stories, angles and themes:

Located in the south of Holland, Efteling is one of the largest theme parks in Europe, attracting more than 130 million visitors since its opening in 1952. Through a programme of phased growth over the coming years, Efteling aims to become an international destination with five million visitors per year by 2020. Efteling is a unique theme park proposition offering great value for money and has a year-round appeal.

SANTA EULALIA TOURIST BOARD

THE LATIN AMERICAN TRAVEL ASSOCIATION (LATA)

No stand.

LATA’s objective is to promote sustainable travel to and around Latin Amarica. 2017 marks 25 years of LATA and the organisation has gone from strength to strength, now with over 300 members. LATA has recently appointed Colin Stewart of Air Europa as the new chairman.

VISIT ANDORRA

Room 15 South Gallery on Tuesday 7 November

Partners with Snowsport England, Andorra continues to attract a growing fan base for first time skiers and snow boarders. With record visitor numbers this summer, representatives from hotels and the tourist board will be in South Gallery Room 15 on Tuesday.
