LOTUS BEGINS NEW PROJECT WITH COSTA CÁLIDA – REGION OF MURCIA

Award-winning travel PR, marketing and representation agency, LOTUS, is delighted to announce that it is now working with the Costa Cálida – Region of Murcia to drive awareness of the destination among British tourists ahead of the competitive summer season.

The Costa Cálida – Region of Murcia possesses an outstanding tourism offering meaning it is certainly true to its slogan: “Murcia, makes you happy”. With an average of over 300 days sunshine each year, the aptly named Costa Cálida (translated as ‘warm coast) is home to dramatic coastlines, sweeping landscapes and rich cultural heritage. These elements combined with the fact that it holds the title of Spain’s Capital of Gastronomy 2021, make it one of the most competitive destinations for Brits looking to holiday overseas and avoid the crowds in 2021.

LOTUS’ scope of work will see the integrated communications agency highlighting tourism pillars such as art and culture, outdoor eco-activities and sporting facilities, and the destination’s title as the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy to raise the profile among key audiences using a combination of PR actions and tactical trade activity.

“We are delighted to be working with LOTUS to help raise the profile of Costa Cálida – Region of Murcia in the United Kingdom. LOTUS’ existing client base, media contacts and wealth of experience in the travel sector, especially with regards to Spanish tourism, puts them in an ideal position to represent our region”, said Juan Francisco Martínez, Director General of the Costa Cálida – Region of Murcia.

The account bolsters the LOTUS LATAM division at LOTUS set up in 2017 to cater specifically for clients to, from and focused on the Spanish speaking markets. The division includes a number of fluent Spanish speakers with first-hand knowledge of Spain and an existing client base including the Spanish Tourist Office in the UK, the Balearic Islands, and Vive Andalucía.

Kate McWilliams, Managing Director of LOTUS LATAM, concludes:

“The LOTUS LATAM team is excited to be working with a destination that has so much untapped potential in the British market. We have first-hand knowledge of Spain and Spanish tourism with many of our team having either been residents or are indeed natives of the peninsula. We feel that with our skills and expertise we are in a position to significantly increase Murcia’s visibility within the UK travel sector and put the destination front of mind for Brits desperate to travel overseas this year.”
