LOTUS SELECTED TO MANAGE MARKETING CAMPAIGN TO ENHANCE THE VALUE OF CATALAN AGRI-FOOD PRODUCTS
London, 29th November 2023 - Specialist PR and marketing agency, LOTUS, has been appointed by Prodeca as its marketing agency to execute an offline and online marketing campaign to promote Catalan agri-food products in the UK and Germany following a competitive tender process.
Prodeca is a state-owned company created by the Regional Government of Catalonia's public body devoted exclusively to promoting Catalan agri-food products. The team supports the agri-food sector and its companies with the knowledge, tools and experience to increase the value of their products in Catalonia and worldwide.
The LOTUS team will work alongside Prodeca to develop brand awareness and recognition of Catalan origin products and support its brand “Catalonia Where Food Is Culture”. The brief initially includes the creation of online resources for buyers and retailers, the development of UK & Germany social media presence as well as establishing relationships with key f&b media and members of the trade.
The Catalan agri-food sector plays a strategic role in the region's present and future. It accounts for 22% of the value of Spain's exports, is home to 26% of companies that export regularly and represents 14% of Catalonia's GDP. Catalonia is therefore one of the leading benchmark agri-food clusters in Europe, with value-added products, local production of a wide range of high quality foods and drinks, high food safety standards, and the capacity for innovation.
Additionally, Catalonia has recently been awarded the World's Gastronomic Region in 2025. This recognition confirms Catalonia's innovative tourism model, where the gastronomic revolution goes beyond restaurants, showcasing the region's unique local products. LOTUS will look to capitalise on the designation to enhance the value of food production and cuisine.
