Lotus UK appointed to represent Palma de Mallorca

The Fundación de Turismo Palma de Mallorca 365 has appointed Lotus UK as its PR agency in the UK.

Following a competitive pitch process, Lotus has been tasked with developing the city tourist board’s “Passion for Palma de Mallorca” campaign, focusing on the promotion of the city as a year-round urban destination.

For the market, the campaign will focus on six key verticals; culture, gastronomy, shopping, entertainment, business and sports (golf, running, cycling and sailing in particular). Lotus plans to incorporate media relations, press trips, profiling and events into its PR strategy over the next 12 months and has already supported the tourist board at World Travel Market with the launch of its new sports tourism product, “Passion for Running”.

The account will be led by Nina Derham, senior account manager, and supported by Maria Costa Lobo, account executive, and Kate McWilliams, account director.

Álvaro Gijón, vice minister of tourism commented “We are very much looking forward to launching our first UK PR campaign and are delighted to be working with Lotus UK, who have a great knowledge of the city and a thorough understanding of what we wish to achieve in this market.”

Sarah Johnson, creative director at Lotus , commented “We are thrilled to be working with Palma de Mallorca. The city has long been a favourite among the travel industry and we see ample opportunity to raise its profile and encourage tourists to visit at all times of year.”
