Lotus UK celebrates new Icelandair connection to Anchorage, Alaska

Alaska Fam Trip with Icelandair

Celebrating the first Icelandair flight from London Heathrow to Anchorage, Alaska, Kate from Lotus UK joined the inaugural fam trip hosted by Visit Anchorage in collaboration with the state of Alaska.

The new Icelandair route cuts the flight time from the UK to Alaska down by approximately six hours, making Alaska even more accessible for UK travellers. Connections are available from London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Glasgow and Manchester.

The jam packed itinerary included biking the coastal trials of Anchorage (spotting moose on route),  the Alaska Railroad, a stop at Wrangell St Elias National Park, a Columbia Glacier Cruise with Stan Stephens cruises departing from Valdez, a glacier helicopter excursion with Alpine Air Alaska and a night at Alyeska Resort.

We spotted porpoise swimming alongside our boat, humpback whales, eagles, otters and mountain goat as well as one solitary black bear from the comfort of the helicopter.

Kate was joined by Vicky Boughton from Exodus, Giota Kanellopoulou from Discover the World, Ben Colbridge from Audley Travel, Lucy Davison from Trailfinders and Gabi Chandler from Icelandair.

A big thank you to all the partners that collaborated with this trip!
