State of Alaska and Visit Anchorage hosts sales mission in the UK

Lotus UK was delighted to work with the wonderful state of Alaska early this month in organising its UK sales mission.

Over 150 UK travel agents joined the Alaska travel representatives in Birmingham and Manchester for a unique training event, promoting the Icelandair gateways to Anchorage, Alaska (via Keflavik). Icelandair now has five UK gateways including Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, London Heathrow and London Gatwick meaning that UK customers can travel to Anchorage, Alaska in just 12 hours from their local airport.

Alaska, the 49th state, abounds with breathtaking glaciers and spectacular mountains just waiting to be explored. Fast becoming a top UK tourist destination, more tour operators are releasing packages to Alaska to keep up with the growing demand and these increased flight connections with Icelandair to Anchorage makes the state more accessible than ever before.

Two travel agents, Heather Hudson from Trailfinders in Manchester and Zeaba Winning from The Co-operative Travel in Birmingham were the lucky winners of a spectacular trip to Alaska featuring a whole host of incredible excursions provided by the Alaska travel representatives:

Tania Hancock and David Kasser (Visit Anchorage)

Jesse Carlstrom (State of Alaska)

Jody Overstreet (Alaska Photo Treks)

Trisha Costello (Talkeetna Roadhouse)

Dawn Venters (CIRI Alaska Tourism)

Heather Dudick (Alaska Railroad)

Elke Handschug-Brosin (Explore Fairbanks)

Lotus UK also welcomed Nick Beauchamp from Icelandair, Toby Baxter from Grand American Adventures, Kay Clueit and Sue Lewis from Prestige Holidays, Tracey Quirk from Birmingham Airport and Keith Worrall North American Travel Service.
