To set up a meeting or to register to attend one of the press events please email BalearicIslands@wearelotus.co.uk

Palma de Mallorca

Palma 365 returns to World Travel Market this year to promote its new gastro tourism strategy aimed towards positioning the city as a leading short-break for foodies, and to unveil its new gastro tourism ambassadors.

Pedro Homar, general director of Palma 365, will be on hand to discuss Palma as a growing visitor destination, the city’s tourism strategies for 2018, specific gastronomy developments and press trip opportunities for UK media.

Palma 365 will also be holding a press conference on Tuesday 7 November at 11.00 on stand EU1400 to launch their new gastro tourism strategy for 2018.

Balearic Islands

At World Travel Market the Balearic Islands - made up of the islands of Formentera, Mallorca, Ibiza and Menorca - will be focused on promoting their message of sustainability and taking the opportunity to highlight some of the recent sustainable tourism initatives such as the restoration of the Cami de Cavalls route in Menorca, and the Posidonia initiative in Formentera. The Cami de Cavalls is an ancient path which encircles Menorca, whilst the Posidonia initiative was launched with the aim of raising fund to conserve the Posidonia, a UNESCO-recognised oceanic marine plant vital to the local ecosystem. Meeting opportunities are available with the tourism representatives for both Menorca and Formentera.

In line with their objective to support a sustainable tourism model, the Balearic Islands will also be hosting a breakfast briefing on Tuesday 7 November at 09.00 (Crowne Plaza, London Docklands) – focusing on growing the destination as a year-round sustainable travel destination. This is open to relevant media, bloggers and the wider industry.

To register for either press event or to meet with the representatives from Palma, Menorca and/or Formentera please email BalearicIslands@wearelotus.co.uk
